Rosetta Stone Comes IN!!!

26 Feb

OK, I know I haven’t done well with this so far, but…To justify, make excuses, and otherwise try to wiggle out of it… I didn’t understand anything about that CD set I bought.  I wasn’t getting anywhere on the frustration train.

This is part of why I wanted to do this, to understand the frustration that the children I will teach may go through, and I AM learning it!

So, Rosetta Stone came in today!  I have worked on it for 30 minutes and I already feel like I learned more than the 3 weeks I suffered through the other one!

A comment on the universality of hitting on women – Ella bebe  most definitely sounds like Heya baby  and since it means girl drinking then I get a most definite vibe here….  I’m seeing a Spanish pick-up line in the making here…aaaaanyone else??

And what is up with Nada and nada????  One means nothing and one means swim??  Why? El nino nada, the boy is nothing or the boy swims take your pick.  De Nada.  It’s nothing or the swim.  This is a silly thing I know, but I thought it was funny to point out 🙂  English has a lot more peculiarities I am sure.

And…pez is fish ?!???! Oh that’s funny, I can never give my kids a pez again without thinking they are eating fish 🙂  pez fish pez fish pez fish, I am getting this

Oh I’m so glad I broke down and got this, I can’t tell you what a difference it is making, I’m rejuvenated again 🙂

AND  I think I’m going to use these two different programs as part of my literacy development research project 🙂
