The thing about the weather in Taiwan

The thing about the weather in Taiwan

So there a lots of little earthquakes every day.

There’s even a website I go to and look to see if that weird tremor was an earthquake, or just my imagination.

http://www.cwb.gov.tw/V7e/earthquake/quake_index.htm

I used to check it all the time, but then I realized, if the furniture isn’t moving, it obviously isn’t that big of a deal.

They only number the earthquakes over 4.0.  We’ve had 81 numbered earthquakes so far this year.   That’s a lot, but I’ve only really “felt” one.  So not too bad.

Then there’s the weather…….

I go to this site   http://www.cwb.gov.tw/V7e/prevent/fifows/index.htm?  to check out if it’s going to rain, pour, dump, or typhoon.   I check this one more often because the dump seems a lot like a typhoon, only lacking the wind.

Looks like we’re in for a good dumping tonight.   We’re under an Extremely Heavy Rain Advisory.  Yippeee.  It’s really only barely started and the site says we’ve already accumulated 54mm of rainfall in our area.  Image

Looks like a staying in kind of night for me.

Subtropical means lots of rain.   I didn’t notice this much rain last year.

But on the not rainy days

When the clear sky shows up, when the light wind is blowing, when the green of this place is showing off its beauty……

Well, it’s hard to beat.
