First week

09 Jan

First week completed….  well, in 3 more hours.

I’ve been eating wonderful food, walking around this beautiful island, getting to know the people a bit, and being amazed by the overall happiness of the people here.  I am sure much of that happiness comes from living on this island.  There is joy here.  Though I can’t really talk about it, my time in Turkey was trying to my soul.  I need this joy and I am grateful for it.

Today I got a tour around to go look at the paint colors on the walls of the houses here.  Blues, greens, yellows, oranges, pinks, it’s so colorful.  I couldn’t get enough of all the children playing in the streets, climbing on everything, and shyly waving at me with enormous smiles.

I’ve learned how to say Bom Dia, Bom Tarde, Abregada, and Bom Noite pretty easily now.  Internet time is almost over so I’m off for a beer, until later!!   Enjoy life!
